After The Auction?

Remember you're remembered by your customers for what you do after the auction or sale! Here's a snap shot of what happens after the Auction. We offer loads more tips and information about selling, buying, loading and taking images, payments and so much more in our Help section.

 

Step 1.
Notification: Trade Away will notify all bidders via email if you have won or lost the auction.The seller will receive the contact details of the winning bidder and the winning bidder will also be notified of the sellers contact details. In the seller’s 'My Account', the item will appear in 'My Sold Items' and the email address of the buyer will be displayed. (Just in case you lose it). Remember buyers want clear and fast communication and to get what they were promised!

 

Step 2.
Contact: The seller should try to contact the buyer by email as soon as possible, sending them a contact telephone number would be the way to go. Then, arrange payment between yourselves and either pick-up or delivery. Should be super easy as the buyer will be in WA!  We generally recommend allowing up to one week for the seller to get in touch. If you have not heard from the buyer or seller after a reasonable amount of time, please check your junk mail folder carefully. If you’ve been unable to make contact within a week, or if you have made contact, but the seller is refusing to complete the sale, please post feedback. Traders who frequently refuse to complete transactions will have their membership terminated.


 

Step 3. 
Money in the bank: As soon as you receive a customer's payment, (if you're not being paid iin cash in person), email the buyer, let them know that payment has been received and thank them for their business. Maybe in this email mention when you intend on sending the item and confirm any delivery details? You could also send a follow up email about a week after the trade to confirm the item has arrived and the customer is happy, well you never know what they could buy off you next!  

 

Step 4.
Feedback: We ask all buyers and sellers to place feedback about members they trade with. Other members can view this feedback to help them to assess whether a member is a reliable trader. To place 'Feedback' is easy, simple go to your 'My Account'  and clicking on the either 'Your Sold Items' or 'My Purchases' and click 'Place Feedback' that relates to that listing.
