Tradeaway has actually taken over 15 months to develop, design, and complete. But, we believe it has all been worth the wait and we hope you do too!
We built this website exclusively for Western Australia because we live in one of the world’s most isolated Cities, and with that comes we believe, the opportunity to cater to our unique geographical needs especially within the online trading market. It's simple; unless you live in WA people just don’t understand how far away Broome is!
Our vision is to bring this method of trading to a multitude of genres, and everyday people who live and work in Western Australia! For example, a local carpenter selling his un-used timber, or painter selling left over tins of perfectly good paint to someone who needs it, for a bargain price too! Mums finding ‘as new’ toys for their little ones, hairdressers buying a new salon chair or a pair of scissors, commercial fitters selling equipment to people starting out, car owners auctioning their cars, and others selling reconditioned washing machines, all potentially to people in their very own suburb!
Additionally we aim to bring all the Regions of WA a bit closer together with the power of this medium, so that members start to trade and link up with others who have similar interests. Our offering is state wide, and we would love to see for example Tradeaway members in Albany finding it easy to trade with other members in Denmark, saving time, petrol, and money perhaps?
Our search engine has been specifically designed for regional towns to have access to this tailored medium so that you can find what you are looking for in your local town, suburb, or region in WA. We see this as a big opportunity for members to communicate across our vast state and we also hope our members see the merit in its application and join in with the spirit.
Tradeaway has come about because one of our founders wanted to buy a second hand sofa (which she looked for in all the usual places); and after driving up and down within the city limits of Perth, was only disappointed upon arrival of each viewing as the item was not as described or sold, was when she decided that there had to be a smarter and fair way to source the items she wanted.
After a great deal of research we discovered that ‘Tradeaway’ is exactly what Western Australia wanted; people want to buy and sell their stuff, find bargains, make money, and have fun, so let’s build a website where they can! So we did... Tradeaway ‘WA’s very own online marketplace'
