Trade Away aims to be a safe, fair and trusted place for Western Australians to buy, sell, and play. This will be mainly achieved by you, our members, adhering to the code of conduct outlined in this document; making Trade Away a better environment for all too enjoy.
The Trade Away Code of Conduct Basic Principals
We reserve the right to remove any listing at any time should any member breach any part of this Code of Conduct.
Members who breach this Code of Conduct or our Terms and Conditions will have their membership suspended or terminated. They will not be allowed to rejoin without our permission, and all their listings will be removed from the site. No money will be refunded.
Buyers and Sellers must:
Comply with all laws, including sales of goods and intellectual property laws
Conduct themselves honestly and in good faith at all times.
Comply with the Trade Away Terms & Conditions
Persons selling on the Trade Away website agree to:
Describe items fully and accurately, no false or misleading descriptions of items.
Answer questions from potential buyers or Trade Away promptly
Respond to emails as soon as able, and no later than within two working days
Ensure items are delivered as soon as possible, and no later than one week after receipt of payment and delivery address, unless otherwise indicated in the listing or agreed by both parties.
Only charge fair and reasonable amounts for delivery, and wherever possible, state exact delivery cost in listings.
No intentional sabotage of any auction or sale.
No offensive language or abuse of any kind throughout the site or in any communications between members.
No exchange of telephone numbers or other contact details during the auction process.
No requesting buyers to trade their items outside the Trade Away sale process.
Not negative feedback without first making best endeavors to resolve issues through email.
No misleading or intentionally false delivery or pick-up information.
Persons Buying/Bidding on the Trade Away website agree to:
Pay for goods purchased as soon as possible, and no later than within 7 working days of the auction closing and receiving payment details.
Respond to emails as soon as able, and no later than within two working days
No negative feedback without first making best endeavors to resolve issues through email
No intentional sabotage of any auction or sale.
No bidding on your own items or asking your family or friends to bid on these either. This is called Shill Bidding and is not allowed.
No non-genuine bidding.
No offensive language or abuse of any kind throughout the site or in any communications between members.
No exchange of telephone numbers or other contact details during the auction process.
No requesting sellers to trade their items outside the Trade Away sale process.
Professional Traders/Dealers on the Trade Away website agree to:
Comply with all relevant laws and display in listings all regulatory licence requirements and numbers.
Ensure goods are of acceptable quality, safe, and comply with Australian standards
Specify any known defects in the listed goods.
Ensure the listed goods are fit for the purpose and purposes indicated in the listing.
Act responsibly and promptly to fix any product faults within a reasonable time after the sale, other than those caused by unreasonable use, and/or offer a replacement or refund. Not sell any items under false or misleading brand names or replicas as originals, or items with licensing/brand restrictions.
If we all play by the rules, everybody wins.
