We all hear good and bad reports about interaction on the web, but did you know that there are in excess of 8 million trades a day world wide on auctions sites! That seriously suggests there are a lot more positive than negative reviews.
However, as Trade Away is a brand new site with a clean history and all our customers will be WA residents we will of course expect you to be perfect. But in case that is not so, we thought we would offer some advice should the situation arise!
Here are some guidelines to resolve any issues with sellers:
Possible Senarios?
We hope most things will be resolved through good communication.
The seller hasn’t contacted me or refuses to complete the sale - First of all, before you start freaking out; perhaps your junk mail filter is to blame! These filters aren’t very clever and sometimes send important messages to your junk mail folder by mistake. So ensure that you add the Trade Away e-mail address to your contact list: theteam@tradeaway.com.au
You should allow about a week for the seller to get in touch (not everyone lives online, you know!). During this time, send them several emails stating that you wish to complete the trade. If a reasonable amount of time has passed without a response, or if they refuse to complete the trade, please 'Place Feedback'. Members who repeatedly neglect or refuse to complete transactions will have their membership suspended or terminated.
The seller hasn’t sent the goods - If the seller said that they would send the goods, but you have not received them after a reasonable amount of time (at least seven days), contact the seller and make new arrangements for delivery. It may be that they are sending the item from a rural area where the post takes longer. If you have already tried to make new arrangements, and still do not receive the item, please place feedback about the seller and get in touch with us at theteam@tradeaway.com.au
The seller has withdrawn an item - The seller may have a good reason for withdrawing an item from the site. This can only be done before a bid is placed. We advise you to try searching for similar items on the site. In extreme circumstances, contact the team at Trade Away, and we will assist with the matter.
The seller has placed unfair feedback about me - Trade Away does not get involved in disputes between members about feedback. Once feedback has been posted it cannot be changed. Please make sure that your feedback is accurate and fair, keep it real! Unless you consistently receive negative feedback, your trading is unlikely to be adversely affected.
We will not review negative feedback unless:
It contains crude or vulgar language.
It contains derogatory statements as to the character of the member.
It discloses contact details or any other information that could aid identification of either party.
The trader who placed the feedback has had their membership terminated by Trade Away.
The Seller is Being Abusive - Our Sheriff is here to take care of any nasty characters on Trade Away. Click on the Communitywatch Sheriff link at the bottom of each listing page to report inappropriate behavior and the appropriate action will be taken.
The seller wants to negotiate a new price - Trying to negotiate a different price after an auction has closed above reserve is in breach of our Terms and Conditions. The selling price has already been negotiated during the auction. Once the auction has closed, the buyer and seller are considered to have agreed on the deal. Neither the seller nor the buyer should try to negotiate further after this point. If the seller refuses to stick to the auction selling price, contact us at theteam@tradeaway.com.au We will record it on file. A seller who repeatedly tries to negotiate a higher price after the auction closes may have his/her membership suspended or terminated.
The seller is located outside of Western Australia - All Trade Away members must be located in Western Australia. If your seller is not located in WA, please report them by clicking on the Communitywatch link on the listing and we will take the appropriate action.
The seller is under 18 years old - Trade Away members must be able to form legally binding contracts and therefore must be over 18 years old. If you suspect that a member is under 18, please contact us using the Communitywatch Sheriff link on the listing.
It's always a good idea to review our Terms & Conditions when looking for guidelines.
