The Team at Trade Away will keep an eye on what's in there, however the person posting a message/thread on the message board maybe liable for its content, Trade Away is not responsible for the content, but we will remove messages that are inappropriate.
The Trade Away Message Board is a place where members can get together and discuss pretty much anything. Below are a few things you'll need to know to start posting your own messages...
Definitions
First off, you need to be familiar with the terminology, some of which may be a little different to what you're used to. Don't worry - there's only a few things to remember here...
Forum: This is a general topic area where you can create new subjects and reply to existing ones. Forums are created by the Trade Away Message Board Administrators. If you have an idea for a new Forum just drop us a line and we'll see where we can fit it in. Note that the Forums are not related to any functions or features on the main Trade Away Website. The Forums are meant to be for things that matter to YOU!
Subject / Topic: This is an area of information you'd like to discuss with other Trade Away Message Board Members that relates to a specific Forum. Subjects are posted under Forums. The words Subject and Topic can be used interchangeably. They are the same thing.
Thread: This is a term sometimes used to refer to a particular topic and its replies. You start a new Thread when you create a new Topic.
Post: This is simply the act of creating a new subject or replying to an existing one and saving your message to the Message Board. So you can Post a new message or Post a reply to an existing one.
And that's about it as far as definitions go. Now on to a quick start about how to use the Trade Away Message Board.

Join the Message Board |

Anybody can read topics posted to the Message Board Forums but only a registered user can post new topics or reply to existing ones. If you want to become an active Forum Member then first you must register with the Message Board. Please also read our Message Board Policy
Note that the Message Board registration is NOT the same as your Trade Away registration but a completely separate and unique account. For ease of use we recommend you use the same logon name and password that you use with the main Trade Away website.
Registration is an easy process:
Click on Join the Message Board in the Message Board menu ...
Enter your user / logon name, password and email address ...
Click on Submit.
That's it!
The Message Board will save your details and log you in. If you like, you can modify your profile via the Your Profile link in the Message Board menu. This enables you to enter your full name, change your password, hide your email address in your posts and specify things such as your ICQ number, homepage and a signature you can include at the bottom of your posts. You can also switch on or off notifications from people that reply to your Post. |

Post a new Subject |

Open the Message Board from the Trade Away Community web page and Log on ...
Click on the forum you want to post your new topic to ...
Click on the New Topic button on the far right of the screen opposite Current Topics for ...
Enter your Subject, Message and any other options you'd like ...
Click on SUBMIT.
Congratulations! You've just started a new thread!
Your new topic will be saved and appear under the Forum you selected. Everyone will now be able to see and reply to your Post. |

Reply to an existing Post |

Again, all very easy:
Select the Forum that contains the Subject you wish to reply to ...
Click on the Subject you wish to reply to ...
Click on the REPLY button on the far right of the screen ...
Fill out the details and select the options you want ...
Click on SUBMIT to Post your reply.
Your reply will appear at the bottom of the Subject display page. |
